This five-week pottery improver course for adults will focus on an advanced hand-building project using templates and textured slabs.
What the course is about
Inspired by the work of contemporary ceramicists, students will work with textured slabs and templates to design, build and decorate their own cups and pots over this five-week course. We will look at contemporary makers who use imprint and impressed decoration, then each piece will be constructed using soft slabs, with students deciding which design they will use for the surface of their work and which glaze to finish and enhance their chosen pattern.
This course is suitable for those with experience in hand building with clay. The course does not include using the pottery wheel.
