What the course is about
We offer the following digital skills courses
Digital Skills workshops
These are 6-week workshops that prepare you for the Entry 3 or Level 1 essential digital skills qualification. These workshops are for those who know how the basics of computers and are looking to improve their digital skills for work.
Essential Digital Skills Entry 3 and Level 1
These courses are for job seekers, or those looking to improve their IT skills for work and use digital devices. The course covers topics ranging from handling online information, creating documents, video calling, emails and online safety
IT User Skills Level 2 and 3
These courses cover the underpinning skills and knowledge that could aid progress to further education or employment. It can offer those moving into their first job roles the confidence to work effectively with ICT and deal with tasks that are straightforward or routine. On Level 2 you will learn how to make use IT tools for activities that are at times non-routine or unfamiliar, and devise solutions to use IT tools to improve productivity. On level 3 you will learn how to use complex and non-routine IT tools for activities, devise solutions in the use of IT tools in order to improve productivity. They will take considerable responsibility and autonomy and be prepared to offer support and advice to others.
Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications
During initial assessment we would assess you for your current IT and English skills. We will discuss with you what IT skills you are looking to improve and how you are planning to use your IT skills. This will allow us to identify your gaps in IT skills and place you on the most appropriate IT course.
As a guide for Entry 3 or Level 1 ESDQ your English level should be a strong Entry 3 or Level 1
As a guide to enrol on the L2 or L3 IT User skills your English level must be at wither Level 1 or working towards a Level 2.

Notepad, pen, lever arch file for portfolio building at L2 and Level 3
Assessments, tests, exams
Digital Skills workshops will have classroom activities for you to complete.
The EDSQ entry 3 and Level 1 requires you to complete an online assessment
Level 2 and 3 IT User Skills require you to build a portfolio of evidence

After completing the workshops, you should be able to progress to the Entry 3 or Level 1 ESDQ course.
After completing the Entry 3 ESDQ course you could progress to the Level 1 ESDQ
After completing the Level 1 ESDQ course you could progress to the Level 2 IT User Skills qualification.
After completing the Level 2 IT User Skills you could progress to Level 3 IT User Skills
All progression is subject to passing the initial assessment in IT and English.
